Man Sexually Assaults Teen And Baby, Leaves Both With Something To Remember Him By

A Houston man has been charged with raping a 14-year-old girl and a 23-month-old baby and infecting them both with HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

The Houston Chronicle reports 33-year-old David Wilson was taken into custody by Houston police after they concluded an investigation that began in November 2013.

It was that month that family members brought the baby to Texas Medical Center because of a suspicious growth on her genitals. Tests confirmed the growth was the result of a herpes infection. At that time the baby also tested positive positive for HIV and chlamydia.

The girl’s condition was reported to authorities, according to KTRK. One doctor told investigators the baby “had to have been sexually assaulted as evidenced by the presence of three sexually transmitted diseases.”

Four people in the home where the child lived agreed to voluntary tests for the infections. Court documents indicate that only Wilson tested positive for HIV.

Wilson had also reportedly told investigators, in an earlier interview, that he had been treated for chlamydia in the past.

It is unclear why Wilson, a registered sex offender, was not arrested at the time the results became known.

But last month a 14-year-old girl, whose mother had been dating Wilson, told a Children's Assessment Center caseworker that she had also been having sex with Wilson and believed she was pregnant.

After an examination, the girl also tested positive for HIV, chlamydia and herpes, according to KPRC.

Wilson was arrested Wednesday and charged Thursday with super-aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child. The first charge is because of the age of the youngest victim, officials said.

In 2005 Wilson was found guilty of sexually assaulting another 14-year-old girl in Houston. He was sentenced to four years in prison for that crime.

The baby, it is believed, is Wilson’s niece. The child was reportedly living with family members in Houston because her biological parents have drug problems and live out of state.

Wilson is expected to be arraigned in court Friday. He is currently being held without bond.
