Here's The Text Message This Man Sent A Teen Girl From Under Her Own Bed

It sounds like a scene from a horror movie: a stalker broke into a teenage girl’s house in Chester, sent her a text saying, “I’m watching you,” and hid under her bed for an entire night.

Now, the 18-year-old stalker, Kyle Ravenscroft, has been spared jail.

He reportedly sent her a texting saying that he had walked to her house from his home in Ellesmere Port and “hoped she would wake up and find him hanging outside.”

The 16-year-old girl was at home with her mother, and was so frightened that she slept in her mother’s room.

The court heard that it was just after midnight when Ravenscroft sent her another text message, this one reading, “I’m in your house.”

The Mirror reports that while she thought Ravenscroft was near her home, she did not believe that he was actually in it.

It wasn’t until the next morning when, returning to her room, she noticed several items out of place in her ground-floor room.

As Prosecutor Rob Youd told the court, the girl had the feeling someone was watching her and checked under her bed.

“She then noticed that all her shoe boxes, normally nearly lined-up, under her bed had been moved. She crouched down and saw him hiding under it,” Youd said.

Youd said that the girl then asked him, “What are you doing under my bed?” to which he replied that he had been asleep.

The girl’s mother came into the room and ordered him to leave; he obeyed, but stole the girl’s phone, which police say he used to “discover personal details about her life.”

When police arrived at his home, he jumped out of a first floor window. He gave himself up after speaking to police on the phone.

A later examination of the girl’s bedroom revealed that her bedroom door had been snapped off.

Ravenscroft’s lawyer said that the July 3 incident had been a “massive wake-up call” for him.

Although Chester magistrates described the incident as “frightening” and “psychologically harming,” Ravenscroft, who has no previous convictions, was given only a 12-week sentence, suspended for two years.

After pleading guilty to stalking, Ravenscroft was ordered to pay $170 compensation to his victim. He has been ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work, and is forbidden by a restraining order to contact or go near the girl.
