Son Makes Disturbing Discovery In BBQ Grill, Calls Police On Mother

A teacher is currently being held in the psychiatric ward of a hospital after her son discovered the charred remains of his sister’s body on a barbeque stand.

The victim, 26-year-old Magdalena Nunyango Amunyoko, was born with a rare condition that restricted her body functions and left her bedridden and with blurred speech.

Amunyoko’s brother, a University of Namibia student, had gone to check on his sister after his mother reportedly refused to tell him where his sister was.

He searched his mother’s house and discovered the remains outside, on a barbeque grill stand.

The incident occurred in the Oshana Region of South Africa.

Amunyoko’s mother, a 49-year-old teacher whose name has not been released, reportedly refused to allow authorities into her home when they arrived to investigate; they reportedly had to break down the front door of her home to gain entry.

Inside the home, investigators reportedly found handwritten letters on a table with the words “burn the enemy” written on them.

As the Oshana Regional Police Commander said, “We found a dustbin with ashes and other burned items and when it was lifted up, we found a human body, which was identified to be that of the late 27-year-old woman.”

The police commander added that the suspect “told the police that there are devils in the house and that she was seeing devils.”

Neighbors told reporters that although they saw items burning in the woman’s backyard on Friday, they did not imagine that her daughter’s body was amongst the items. Other items found include a television and Amunyoko’s wheelchair.

Results of the preliminary police investigation indicate that the victim was hacked to death with a machete on Friday. Many of her body parts were reduced to ashes.

Police are investigating Foursquare Gospel Church, in which the suspect had been active. Investigators have said that some churches in the region “contribute to confusing people” and allegedly have a doctrine in dealing with demons and evil spirits.

Pastor Festus Negumbo, however, said that the suspect had not been coming to church for over a year and had resisted the church’s attempts to reach out to her.

“She never said anything about demons in her house to the church,” Negumbo said.

The suspect is set to appear for her arraignment in the Oshakati Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
