Homeless Woman Wakes Up Looking Like This, Reports It And Ends Up Paying The Price (Photos)

A homeless Houston mother claims she and her children were forced to leave the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter after they complained about the shelter’s severe bed bug problem.

The woman stayed at the shelter for two weeks before leaving over the bed bug dispute. She is now living out of her car with her three children.

“We don’t have money,” she tearfully told KHOU.

Pictures attest to the woman’s claims about the severity of the shelter's bug problem. Her arms and hands are covered with bites.

"It hurts standing right now," she said. "It's all the way down to my feet."

Her daughter says she can’t even put her shoes on because of bites on her feet.

"I can't put my shoe on all the way because there is one on my toe and it hurts really bad," the young girl said.

Marta Pelaez, president of the shelter, refused to comment on the woman’s claims.

"I cannot and will not discuss anything related to services that we've provided for any of our clients ever," she said. "When people come and go, these disgusting things do attach themselves to people."

Bed bugs are parasites that feed exclusively on the blood of other animals. The common bed bug, Cimex lectularius, prefers to feed on human blood. Thankfully, the Environmental Protection Agency says bed bugs are not known to transmit or spread disease
