Luke Walton is being sued by a sports reporter who says the NBA mentor explicitly attacked her, as indicated by a court archive documented Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The suit, which was first revealed by TMZ, affirms that Walton grabbed and persuasively kissed the reporter, Kelli Tennant, in a Santa Monica lodging on an unspecified date.
The Sacramento Kings mentor, a previous Los Angeles Lakers forward who won two titles with the group, recently filled in as assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors and head mentor with the Lakers starting in 2016.
Despite the fact that the suit does not determine the date of the supposed assault, it demonstrates it occurred while Walton was an assistant mentor for the Warriors, a position he took starting in the 2014-2015 season.
On Tuesday Mark Baute, Walton’s lawyer said that Tennant’s claim is “baseless.” Baute said “The accuser is an opportunist, not a victim, and her claim is not credible. We intend to prove this in a courtroom.”
