Actress Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role as D.J. Tanner on Full House and Fuller House, responded to criticism after sharing a photo with her husband, former NHL player Valeri Bure, that some followers found inappropriate.
Bure, who has been married to Valeri Bure for 24 years, posted two photos on Instagram of the couple standing on a bridge. In the first, he is seen kissing her cheek as she smiles. In the second, more playful photo, Valeri is seen resting a hand over his wife's breast while she grins. She captioned the post "Sweet and spicy. 24 years and counting."
The second image drew criticism from some of Bure's followers, particularly from Christian fans who felt the photo was inconsistent with the family-friendly image she projects. Bure, who has been vocal about her Christian faith throughout her career, took to her Instagram story to respond.
"For all the Christians that are questioning my post with my husband's hand on my boob — my husband of 24 years — thinking it was inappropriate, it makes me laugh because it's my husband," Bure wrote. She added, "I'm sorry if it offended you ... I'm actually not sorry. I'm glad that we have fun together after so many years and he can touch me all day long."
The Bures married in 1996 and have three children: Natasha, Lev, and Maksim. The couple met at a charity hockey game in Los Angeles, where Bure's Full House co-star Dave Coulier introduced them.
