Gymnast Nastia Liukin inadvertently sparked a political debate after she posted an Instagram photo flaunting her famous thigh gap while wearing a teeny tiny mini skirt.
The 31-year-old was in a Barbie pink two-piece, showcasing her silky smooth legs in the mini skirt, and accessorized the look with a pair of sky-high metallic heels.
Posing at the top of a long staircase, the Gymnastics Hall of Famer’s full-body shot showcased her long legs and slim thighs. The mini skirt came with a matching long blazer and belt that called attention to her slim frame.
While the shots were particularly stunning, many of her fans focused on her caption, which quoted Taylor Swift.
She wrote: "I wanna love glitter and also stand up for the double standards that exist in our society. I wanna wear pink, and tell you how I feel about politics. I don’t think those things have to cancel each other out - @taylorswift."
The caption sparked a political debate from both sides, with one person commenting: "If Tay Tay was a conservative she’d be excoriated not celebrated. Let’s address double standards because conservative women are definitely never called inspiring."
"Because conservatism is uninspiring... in every way. It is suppression, stagnant, and misogynistic," a second person responded.
"I am a conservative and am disgusted by today’s double standards. You’re not allowed to have your voice if you aren’t saying what the Left wants you to say. I choose morals and truth over the world’s ways," another comment read.
